“This place is beautiful and calming. Salt therapy helps my asthma and sinus issues. Best sleep especially the night after visit. Well worth the investment whether just a day visit or purchasing a package to help keep the visit costs down.”— Twilah W.

What it actually is
Halotherapy is not a steam room and it is not aromatherapy. A halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride into particles fine enough to stay airborne, and you spend forty-five minutes breathing them. The particles are small enough to travel past your nose and throat into the lower airways, where salt does three things at once: it draws water into thickened mucus so you can clear it, it is hostile to bacteria, and it reduces the swelling that narrows an inflamed airway.
The room itself is built for sitting still. Sea salt on the floor and walls, Himalayan salt lamps for light, zero-gravity chairs, and a door that stays shut so the concentration holds. Most people fall somewhere between deeply relaxed and asleep. You will taste a faint saltiness on your lips and may notice a light dusting on dark clothing afterwards, which brushes off.
What a session is like
Start to finish, so nothing about your first visit is a surprise.
-
Arrive a few minutes early
Sessions start promptly on the hour or the half hour, and the door stays closed once we begin so the salt concentration holds. Booties go over your shoes, or bring clean white socks.
-
Leave your phone in a locker
Salt is corrosive and will get into a charging port or a watch band. We provide lockers, and plastic bags if you would rather keep a device with you.
-
Settle in and breathe through your nose
Forty-five minutes in a zero-gravity chair with calming music. Blankets are available and worth taking: the room runs cool by design.
-
Expect to cough, and take it as the point
A productive cough during or shortly after a session is the salt doing its job on mucus that was already there. It settles within the hour.
Who it’s for
If you recognise yourself in one of these, this is probably the right service to book.
You are managing a respiratory condition
Asthma, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever, emphysema and COPD symptoms. Several of our regulars arrived on a referral from their pulmonologist or allergist.
Allergy season runs your calendar
If you can name the month yours starts, a course of sessions before it does tends to be more useful than sessions during it.
You are pregnant and out of options
Halotherapy is drug-free, which matters when most of the usual remedies are off the table. Check with your physician first, as with anything new.
You want the forty-five minutes
Plenty of guests have no respiratory complaint at all and come for a room with no phone in it.
Before you book
When to check with your doctor first
Halotherapy is not a substitute for anything your doctor has prescribed, and it is not appropriate for everyone. Do not book a session, and talk to your physician first, if any of the following apply:
- You are running a fever, or are in the acute stage of any respiratory illness
- You are coughing up blood
- You have active tuberculosis
- You have cardiac insufficiency, or unstable hypertension
- You have COPD in its third stage
- You have a bleeding disorder
- You are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
If you have a pulmonary condition of any kind, ask your doctor before your first session rather than after it. We are happy to talk through what a session involves so you can bring specifics to that conversation: call us on (407) 542-7818.

What guests say
“My pulmonologist suggested I try the Salt Room. The ladies there were very kind and helpful to get me settled in with my portable oxygen which I must wear 24/7. I plan on going back at least once a week to see if it will help my breathing and lung problems.”— Jane B.
Questions about adult salt therapy
How many sessions before I notice anything?
Most guests notice something after one session, usually easier breathing or a clearer head that evening. For a chronic condition the pattern that works is one to three sessions a week rather than a single visit: the effect is cumulative, and it fades if you stop.
What should I wear to a salt session?
Comfortable clothing. Darker colours may show a light salt dusting afterwards, but it brushes straight off and will not damage fabric. The room runs cool, so bring a layer or take one of our blankets. Booties go over your shoes, or bring clean white socks, because shoes cannot come into the room uncovered.
Will I be in the room on my own?
Usually not. Sessions are shared with a small group, all sitting quietly. If you would rather have the room to yourself, call us and we can book it as a private session.
Is salt therapy safe during pregnancy?
Yes, it is drug-free and all natural, and it is a common reason people come to us: many of the usual respiratory and skin remedies are unavailable during pregnancy. We still recommend clearing it with your physician before your first session.
Can I bring my phone or smart watch in?
We would rather you did not. Salt is corrosive and gets into ports and bands. There are lockers outside the room, and plastic bags if you want to keep a device on you.
Does halotherapy replace my inhaler or medication?
No, and you should not treat it as if it does. Halotherapy sits alongside what your doctor has prescribed. Nobody here will ever suggest you reduce a medication.

How Can Salt Therapy Help With Asthma?
Asthma is inflamed airways. Dry salt therapy works on that inflammation directly, which is why it sits alongside an inhaler rather than replacing one.
