What To Expect

What happens during a session?

During sessions our halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical grade salt into a fine dust that is dispersed into the room for you to inhale. The salt rooms are designed for relaxation so you will want to sit back in our zero-gravity chairs or recliners and breathe deeply. The doors to the salt room will close and remain closed during the session for the optimum guest experience and also to make sure salt particles do not leave the room. We ask that you arrive a few minutes early as sessions will be started promptly on the hour or on the half hour. You don’t want to interrupt another guest’s time and relaxation.

What should you wear to your salt session?

You will want to wear comfortable clothing to your salt session. Please note that darker colored clothing may show salt, but it can easily be brushed off and will not harm your clothing. While we have blankets for sessions, some people prefer to bring their own blanket as the room does get cool.

Guests have the option of either wearing booties over their shoes (provided by us) or bringing clean white socks to wear. Due to the purity of the salt, shoes cannot be worn in the room without booties on.

Skin Conditions

If coming in for a skin condition, you will want to try to expose this area as much as possible.

 Appointments

We encourage you to make an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome if there is available space. While there is no cancellation fee, we do ask that you are considerate of other guests wanting to book an appointment by giving us a 24-hour notice if you are unable to join us.

 Actively Sick?

It is a common misconception that the time to try salt therapy is while you are actively sick. However, the best time to seek salt therapy is when you are healthy and using salt therapy for chronic illness or preventative treatment.

If you suspect that either you or your child are actively sick (or running a fever), please call to reschedule the appointment. Our ongoing goal is to maintain an environment of health and wellness. Once you or your child have been fever free for at least 24 hours you can schedule a new time for your appointment.

What should expect to happen during my treatment?

Salt sessions last 45 minutes and is in a room that is surrounded with sea salt on the walls and covering the ground. During a session it is best to close your eyes and take deep cleansing breaths. Giant Himalayan salt lamps throughout the rooms provide negative ions that enhance the salt therapy experience.

For the optimum relaxation experience, we recommend leaving your phones in a provided locker. Salt is corrosive and can ruin your device (including smart watches), yet if you choose to bring one into the room, we will provide a plastic bag for use.

Will I be alone for my treatment?

Our salt rooms can accommodate up to four people at once. So each session can have anywhere from one to four people at a time.

Please contact us to book the salt room for a private event.

Side Effects

Halotherapy is 100% natural, drug free, and safe. Post session some people have experienced a runny nose, slight cough, or chest tightness. This is usually due to mucus and toxins becoming dislodged in the body and working out of the body.

Smoking & Perfumes

We ask that anyone who is a smoker to please refrain from smoking prior to entering in the salt room. If you smell of smoke, you may be asked to reschedule. The Salt Room Oviedo is a smoke-free environment. The main reason we do not allow guests actively smelling of smoke is for our clients who have respiratory issues, like Asthma, COPD, or Cystic Fibrosis. The presence of the exhaled smoke or chemicals in it can trigger a reaction or an attack.

Please refrain from use of any perfumes or essential oils before coming in.  If you smell of heavy odors you will be asked to re-book.
